Wow, Book 10?

As you can tell, I'm not much of a blogger.  I need a teenager to interview me each day and do the blogs😊

I'm in that awkward place between finishing the second draft of book 9 and trying to tune up the plot of book 10.  That means I go looking for anything to do.  Even editing, or formatting.  I just started formatting book 7 as an e-book.  It's due on Amazon in a few weeks for the July 21st release.

I always delay that work to the last moment because I find issues in later books that require mods the book being readied for release.  I was dealing with some aliens in book nine and realized that I was having to defy the laws of physics based on something I just guessed at in book seven.  So I had to go back and rework all the timelines to make the physics rational.

Then I found this cool macro that lets you pull out all the proper names in the book; it's not perfect but I didn't have to write it.  That lead to the discovery of lots of little mistakes.  Fortunately just spelling in the books that have been released, but for book 7-9 I had renamed a few characters.  OOPS.

Anyway, back to formatting😊

Looking forward to & still time to reread the first books.
Can usually remember stories, maybe some mainchars, but names... forget it!

Huh, and somehow I just saw, that there is an audio book, I know what I'll do after commenting here ^^

Although its getting a bit old: keep well and fit!

  2. First 6 were awesome. Very happy you are continuing the saga. Delphi would make a great TV drama I think. Not that you'd ever want to have to deal with 'The Suits' in producing one. Heh...

Basically, after reading everyday for the past 10 years, I ran out of books to read by Asimov, Hamilton, Anthony, Donaldson, Modesitt, McCaffrey, Carver, Baxter, Currie, Niven, Pournell, Weber, and well... everyone else. Lol.

So, while waiting for some of them to finish new continuations to their sagas, which of course takes years, you and a very few other new authors are really saving me now!

I'm really enjoying your work, sir. Thank you so much for your efforts.

  4. Interesting approach here, I must say. I am sure our present president would HATE it as you propose a more globalist approach in many sectors. Certainly goes against the concept of American exceptionalism. Being a pro-Trumper this galls me BUT it is good to read other viewpoints and you rationalize this approach succintly and I find it pleasurable to read as well, so, yeah, I'll BITE. :-) After sall, I love Fox News but I also periodically watch the Communist News Network (CNN), too. Or at least that is what we called it when I was in the Intelligence arena years ago.

And the idea of a 14 year old having this much power in the strategies of a power player on the world scene is somewhat unbelievable, but, hey, you craft it really well and you gotta admit that is is not easy to dislike her. Catie is very pleasant, even as a 14 year old! :-)

I do find it interesting that every project that is undertaken tends to be thought of out of the blue, designed and implemented with few if any snags and that, gentlemen, is not real life, but, hey, THIS IS SCIENCE FICTION so who cares? Its FUN FUN FUN! It reminds me of those old Tarzan movies with Johnny Weismuller where he would swing through the jungle seemingly effortlessly even though you know that just cannot be the case, but, guess what?, who cares? Its fun to watch!

Oh and Frankie deserved everything he got and more, becasue he is scumbag AND no one goes for a boob grope on the first kiss...come on! Work on it for a while and then try! :-)

Seriously, the books are interesting, creative, well-written and well-researched. I am not a physicist or an engineer so the products may not be "real-life reasonable" but they SOUND feasible so go for it!

Thank you for the books anfd I am glad you are continuing onward!

  6. I love your stories, but I am curious... the formatting of your Delphi ebooks is unusual. Have you considered using a standard novel format? Rather than extra lines between paragraphs and lines of dialogue with no indentation, just a small hanging indent for each new paragraph or line of dialogue, with no extra lines between?

Double spacingis usually only used for major subject or scene change, not every single paragraph or line of a conversation.

Single spacing is the traditional method, and I think it looks and reads a lot better. All that extra empty space on every page is a bit offputting. (That may not actually be a word, offputting) 🤔

    1. It must be age, but i find it hard to read books that don't use indents for paragraphs. It slows me down and I have to keep going back to figure out that it's a new paragraph. What device do you read on?

    2. I read on a kindle. The extra line between paragraphs is supposed to provide the break. Because i use long dialogs with short comment, using the indent just creates a long line of indented un-spaced paragraphs. Sorry it bugs you, most people seem to like it. But i get that age thing. Unfortunately there's not a good alternative to getting old.
